The village Zuberec is one of the most beautiful and most visited touristic centres in Slovakia. 1850 people live in the village. The first written reference about the village comes from the year 1588. Dominant feature of the village is the church of Saint Vendelin, which was built in 1932.

The most known events organized in the village are: Podroháčske folklórne slávnosti – this well known international festival of folk dances and culture is held every year at the first August weekend, Goralský klobúčik – ski competition, Habovský kardan – competition of the home made tractors in the neighbouring village Habovka, Competition of teams of dogs in Zuberec.

Zuberec is the best starting point for exploring the most interesting touristic parts of Orava and Liptov regions. Thanks to the growth of tourism there are lots of boarding houses providing accommodation, various restaurants and other services for the visitors of the village.
